Sometimes I think life could be lived simpler if our thoughts didn't always dog us.
Our culture creates and depends on noise to validate existence.
TV's, videos, music, radios, Ipods, cell phones, send all that noise into our heads.
I can't help thinking all that continuous noise impacts our brains in a negative way.
Silence has become rare-in fact, it has become an almost deliberate and forced activity.
If quiet time for our brains is not a value how do you think that impacts our culture?
Or individually?
Do we lose the ability to create our own thoughts?
Is there some deeper part of our brains that over time, we are shutting down by not using it?
If so, is it meant to be- as some kind of evolutionary change which will support our survival over time or is the lack of silence and independent thought the downfall of us?
