pigs may get "swine" flu from people hahaha

The question here is-who or what really is the "swine?"
Farmers fearing the pigs may contract the disease from humans?
Pigs threatened by humans.
What message does this send from our spirit world??

What it's not about.....

I keep trying to figure this out.

This ugliness which creates this domino effect on our nation.

The layoffs that don't end. The corporations banking money offshore.

The wealthiest of our nation not stepping up to the plate to help save this country, instead worrying about their own taxes.

The middle class with splinter issues like abortion, believing our own President is the devil, and throwing their lot in with those who ruined our country for the past eight years.

The Republicans and Democrats who fight for their "party" and the next election rather than working together , representing all of us to repair our country.

Our country. The United States of America.

Democracy. Now means the right to charge citizens loan shark credit card interest. Steal 401K pensions. Layoff because they can. Demand pay cuts because they can.

Refuse loans because they can.

Repossess overinflated priced homes, made that way through the collusion of banks, realtors, builders, county officials and mortgage companies-because they could.

Inflate prices for utilities, groceries, gas, -controlling essential services such as health care-to the point of refusing services to the uninsured-because they can.

Once proud of it's Independence, loyalty, sense of justice and optimism, the United States of America has a runaway government rampant with corruption, lobbyists, personal interests-and a mass of citizens who no longer believe democracy exists, but rather they are powerless.

My 56 years of faith are shaken. I feel helpless. I have always believed .

How do I believe again?

Congratulations Las Vegas Sun

It takes courage to walk into the lions den of corruption and expose the talons of a corrupt and greedy system. It also takes courage to print it in a city so whitewashed by it's dishonesty it reacts with brazen indignity to accusations in the face of facts.
The Las Vegas Sun doesn't whitewash the city's ugly pustules by printing more sports and sports surveys on the front page. It doesn't skim over the fact Las Vegans have lost over 50% of their assessed values on homes in the area. In fact, it takes the time to put real faces on the losses piling up in the city. Congratulations -honesty and openness in today's climate of overwhelming greed and deceit feels like a lifeline to a better world.
If the Sun really wants to clean house, I suggest they investigate how the home assessors, Realtors and county colluded when inflating the real estate market. I suggest they investigate how building codes were overlooked in an effort to expedite the building of cheap homes with major flaws and how the building inspectors looked the other way.
In conjunction with those questions, I would ask how Realtors and banks worked together to package the toxic loans given to people.
If you really want to clean house, tell me why the town home I lost went from 234,000 to 65,000 in three years. Why my mother's house, after her death sold for 1.5 million, was repossessed and sold for less than 400,000, three years later.
There is something very smelly about the entire situation.

Las Vegas Rabid Dogs-Part Two...

Well. Las Vegans, the comments are in and I thought you might enjoy the highlights of the deep thinkers kind enough to respond to the Rj's article on the school budget. Once again, the clarity of the people , ever faithful to their principals of "screw you-leave me alone, I ain't paying for nothin I don't use" is loud and clear.
Pat yourselves on the back. Yeah, you tell them, ain't no one taking nothin out of your pockets. Screw the kids, education ,medical care, mental health,,,blah, blah,,,eh?

To summarize them:

1. Schools are bad-abolish them.

2. Illegal aliens are destroying Las Vegas schools.

3. All who work in public education are lazy and making the big bucks.

4. Public schools are pretty much hated in Las Vegas.

5. Children are pretty much detested in Las Vegas.

6. All sorts of innuendos related to immoral acts are fair game in the comments.

7. Poor kids should ride the public bus=screw them if it doesn't get them to school on time.

8. Only parents should pay for education-why should everyone else?

Enjoy the comments!!

It's ALL waste. If we abolished public education, private school seats would pop up, sufficient to meet the demand for all parents who desire education services, for all tastes, and all affordabilities

First off, we get rid of these so-called Area Superintendents and all their cling-ons... savings approaching $100 mil right off the bat. Put these clowns back into the classrooms.. all of them. Trim the "management" staff whose overbloated salaries are siphoning off money that rightfully should be going into the classrooms. Why do we even need a ridiculous position called "diverisity office"? Chase out all the ILLEGLA alien children and send them packing anywhere else but Nevada. Taxpayers should not be forced to fund this nonsense. Too bad for the children, but their parents are the culprits, it's not the childrens fault, but still they don't belong here. Need more? There's plenty of waste everywhere one looks.

a secretary being paid 90k?hello ruffles get rid of this incompetent who can not get her job done in a reasonable timeshe probably does not even typehmmmm wonder what she does after hours for him
Superintendent Walt Rulffes, Show me where to Cut? If you idiots would deport illegal aliens, people that should not be here in the first place, your budget would be on the way to being balanced! Oh..we can't talk about that, it's not P C. But...that's O K, eliminate American jobs so we can help these poor people. What a bunch of B S!!!! Signed, American Tax Payer.

Low income people can take the bus with the reduced rate. Why do our school buses run up and down the streets to pick up all children for free, regardless their parents' income?

If the parents want someone to pick up their children, then pay for it. Don't demand school bus to work for free. While students have iPhone, iPod, texting cellphones, ...there shouldn't be any reason that they couldn't pay for $2.25 to get on the bus, regular bus that regular people take.

Cut cut and cut and if you want to spend on anything, spend on better screening programs so we can cut out the meth dealers and predators out of the school district.

If you want to cut the fat, get rid of all of the books. This will also eliminate the need for bookcases, paper, pencils, garbage pails, custodians etc.. Books are the real reason that we cannot ballance the budgets in these schools
If you want to cut the fat, get rid of all of the books. Good idea. The kids can't read anyway.

Get rid of the mormon mafia that runs CCSD and cut positions by 15% and you're good. I want a efficient school district administrationy jobs program!

Any moron with half a brain can find ways to save district monies so we can hire teachers, buy textbbooks and paper.

And my all time favorite??

don't tell anyone how to spend their own money, but I think the government should be prohibited from accepting (much less soliciting) private donations. Government is a necessary evil; certainly not a friend. Government should only be supported by taxation. People who *voluntarily* support it are committing treason.

LVRJ continues to incite rabid dogs...

Any sane person logging on to the Las Vegas Review Journal to read the local news must believe Las Vegas is a hate filled , biased, ignorant town.

Each time the RJ prints another "scathing", ignorant article bashing some public works in the state, comments are filled with angry, hate filled, rabid attack dog vituperative gibberish.

If the LVJR's goal is to take Las Vegas to a new level of ridicule and scorn in this nation then gloat. If it is one thing the RJ does well it is reveal the ugly side of the citizens.

Today's article on the school budget and the comments that follow are an embarrassment to educated people living in Las Vegas.

I keep hoping they speak up -I am not sure why they do not?

Perhaps the lack of support for education and quality community services historically has already taken its toll and cutting any part of any budget can do no more harm than already exists.

All Things Nevada

Nevada,
Your dirty underwear is showing .
Sixty Minutes encapsulated the attitude of the No Tax, Sufferers die or leave mantra pretty well.

So did Sherm in his editorial today.
He points out "everyone" needs to downsize a bit, Pull in the proverbial belt. Give up one car.

I think Nevada citizens are definitely making the sacrifices.
They are not only giving up their cars by burning them in the desert so they don't have to make car payments, they are also returning their very own houses to the State coffers.
Now, what more sacrifice could a "Let Them Eat Cake" editor ask from his fellow sufferers-aside from dying to save a few bucks for UMC?

The Sky is falling!! Corporations love Chicken Little!!

Depression my a--
In lockstep with Chicken Little's "The sky is falling, The sky is falling!", corporations greedily grab the media "Woe is Me" onslaught of coverage to the masses to create another "Golden Goose" at the expense of the American people.
Never underestimate the avarice and heartlessness of corporate profits.
Taking the opportunity is like stealing Mary's Little Lambs.
Cutting jobs and announcing profit losses -translation-, "this is an opportunity to redefine worker expectations.
We can say, "Times are tough", cut salaries, lay off the most senior workers, break unions backs, --
Why!! We can ask for just about anything! And they do!!
Workers give back wages, benefits, lose retirement investments, work less hours, give up lunch hours, add impossible job responsibilities, work overtime without pay, and not one Chicken Little peep!! Keep quiet long enough and who needs labor laws? Terror will be the "new labor law".
The martyr mentality and quick to judge ignorance of the masses if anyone dares to publicly complain about the loss of livlihood bound and gag workers -ah!- the corporate gods are smiling gleefully.
Most of the what you read and hear sells,-sells so well, we all bend over.
Don't ever underestimate the corporate culture my fellow citizens. Ever.
Ironically they are the ones who created this mess taking on massive debt to overextend their brands. Creating profit and loss statements from Grimm's Fairy Tales with the help of the Seven Dwarfs accounting firms-"Hi-Ho-Hi-Ho, creative profit we will show"...
Next time you read or hear about how "The Sky Is Falling" remember, it isn't the corporations' sky, it's ours.
