Nev. Gov. and Bush-A twofer speech time!

Tomorrow night is a big night!
George Bush wants to sing his Swan Song after raping the country even more to the tune of billions of dollars in the past six months. As he moves on to his gated community-which only recently allowed blacks to move in-he wants to reiterate his famous words, "Brownie-You did a heckofajob" and "Mission Accomplished".
You can bet his rich friends will be there to support his legacy-of supporting those who supported him-to the exclusion of our country-remember "The Good Ole USA"- George???
Hopefully, out of the woodwork will crawl Dick Cheney in his night goggles-to reside at another dark, dank location which supports monetary, power hungry vampires.
Lord knows the two of them have sucked the lifeblood outta this country.

Nevadan's meaness bares pointed fangs///

Like many other states, but probably second only to Michigan in the loss of one dimensional income-Nevadans are speaking their minds about what to cut and spare.
Mind you-the state has almost non-existent services for those in need-to begin with. (See Las Vegas Sun-01-11-09

In retrospect, I suppose we deserve our Governor-Jim Gibbons-his simplicity and moronic outlook on humanity seems to coincide with the following supporters-
these comments were taken from the Las Vegas Sun-a thoughtful article on the state of Nevada's economy and putting real people's faces to the cuts.

The Sun asks the question we all grapple with-What are our priorities?
While many responses were more positive than these-the viciousness of the citizens in Nevada is almost frightening

It is too bad the State government cut mental health services to the bare bone-it seems as if a few of these commenter's need a little medication.
Anger states it mildly-
Rage is more like it.
Ignorance isn't bliss-have you noticed? Ignorance is like putting a flame to a can of gasoline.
How quickly we buy into the worst without ever checking facts.

And remember-
Nevada has the highest suicide rate in the nation-as well as the highest rate of crime.


Raising taxes most likely will result in more layoffs to private employees.

If you want that model of high taxes and broad base taxes with a diversified economy then you should move next door.

I guess you have not heard. State spending has actually gone up the past year over the previous year.
Also, there have not been any cuts in forms of layoffs or pay freezes or pay cuts or benefits cuts which tons of businesses have done this year.
God forbid if a government worker suffers. It will be the end of the universe.

The Sun can be the messenger of Cry, Cry Cry all they want. The simple truth is - Raise taxes on me and my business now, I will fire more people. Not because I want to, but because I have to to survive. And when I cant cut anymore (soon), I will close and file for unemployment and go on the states payroll.

let the homeowners pay school taxes like the rest of the country and raise property taxes to reflect the state and city work forces you apparently seem to want to see grow daily into one of the costliest items you need to pay for and give even more benefits to your city and state workers,give them more paid days off.pay up or stop complaining.

Here's an idea: Either call it an "editorial" or keep your pro-tax, liberal agendas out of so-called news stories. You're not fooling the smart ones among us.
Then the answer is simple... the state should file bankrupcy. That would invalidate these BS contracts and we can start from scratch with something more realistic. Even better - public employees - PLEASE STRIKE! We can replace your useless butts so quick with people being laid off in California (not to mention those laid off here already) it won't even be funny.

Hey! I have an idea... all parents get together and decide how much the state should waste uhm.. I mean "spend" per child or whatever, then send them a bill for each child. That should end this argument pretty quickly.
There is a family down the street from me with 13 kids - rather than pointing fingers at the casinos, how about we have this family pay their "fair share" since they are "contributing" so greatly to our community with their ignorant spawn.

Nevada Governor-Buffoon Gibbons

Meet Jim Gibbons. Nevada's Governor. Today he announced he wants to cut teacher pay by 6%.

Nevada has one of the worst education systems in the nation. It also has the leanest. It is has the lowest per pupil funding in the nation.

If you don't know this idiot-you will soon.

His political career is over.

His political career is a classic tale of genetics. It is a lesson we did not learn with George Bush and we pay dearly.

It is a lesson we still have not learned in Nevada.

Never, children, never, never, never, elect a person because someone else in the family may have been successful.

Remember, boys and girls. Energy depletes each time it is cycled.

We have lots of humans in this nation for display as excellent examples of reduced energy.

I'd say Jim Gibbons is at the end of this particular cycle.

United States Burns While Washington Fiddles

Either our government no longer works or we have elected and/or support stupid people.
Either way we are in a process of old patterns which are not working. As we citizens stand by and watch our livelihoods, our infrastructures, our nobility to just and fair methods -government fiddles awaywhile our families suffer and our towns crash and burn.

We hear the word, "caution" when making decisions for the masses and we hear "NOTHING" when making decisions for the elite.

A few bad habits need to go-NOW

1. I don't care if it is an election year. Do the right thing. Tell us why.
2. Quit listening to lobbyists. If they cared about the whole picture we would not be in this mess.
3. Grandstanding does not work. Get off your pompous high horses and do what is right for us. Getting on the tube and telling us why you are screwing us just makes us mad.
4. If it didn't work a year ago, what makes you think it will now?
Try something brave and bold. We did not elect or hire you to get YOU rich, get over that.
5. Go into your job fighting for OUR country-not Japan, China, or India. Look for jobs for us. Change our trade agreements, quit borrowing from China, give us our jobs back, give the US companies tax breaks, not Toyota and Honda. Quit raping our economy.
6. Honor US. The workers. The autoworkers didn't create this mess because they were paid a living wage-it has always been from the top down. WE are stupid if we keep giving back our wages to keep wealthy stockholders rich-on our backs.
7. If you can't stand the heat of an honest decision, don't work in politics. If you don't get reelected, what did you really lose?
8. God I miss Paul Wellstone.

Captured Souls-Ransomed for Money

What do we believe? Insidiously, hate and harsh judgement has snaked around our hearts and fallen from our mouths. Inside of our souls opens Pandora's box, emerging this hate filled energy that splays itself across the landscape of our souls.
This energy seeps into unfulfilled spaces of our hearts and the venom clings to all of us.

Weaker souls become stronger. In fearful ways. Stronger, wiser souls become whispers.
Whispers that do not disappear. We know, in our hearts, that judging others, wishing for downfalls, and spewing hate and meanness are not right. We know it, deep inside. Anger, even justified, does not right life. Anger does not conquer and win. It destroys.

Religion is not God's words. It is not the teachings of Jesus. False paths do not take us to spiritual teachings.

And folks, we have a lot of false paths out there. Anyone who believes the path they walk on, organized by teachings that instill anger, righteousness and harsh judgement is the path, have lost direction.

Forgiveness isn't a right. Who are we to think we have the glory of choosing what is maligned and forgiving? Have we become God in our own right?

The spiraling economy and the loss of money is revealing our nature-and I ask you, dig into your hearts and tell me, is this us?

Divide, Conquer, Rule-this is the sign on a church I pass, each day, on my way to work. The message never changes. Is life a battle to be won? Did Jesus set up a commando unit to capture souls?

This is what we have become today.

A political chasm is destroying America

It is us.
I am watching a video clip from McCain's trail thumping. A man take over the microphone and yells to the crow, "I don't want a terrorist Muslim to run MY country. You need to fight-McCain-fight!! And the crowd begins yelling, "Fight"

A terrorist Muslim? Do you really think our justice system would allow a "terrorist" to run for political office?

From what rock has this insanity emerged??

We are watching are nation fall. From corrupt elections, smear campaigns- ugliness has frothed out of America's mouth.

We are our own worst enemy and so full of of narcissism we don't recognize our own selfishness, ignorance or blathering idiocy.

Voices of reason become targets of suspicion. Crazy accusations become fact. Why anyone would want to run for a political office, on ideology, in this country is a HUGE mystery.

Mention a name in politics and watch the contortions of anger on your neighbors face. Where did all this hate ooze from?Close friends can't speak. Others avoid talking about our country's woes fearing the venomous response which inevitably follows.

What is going on ???

Have we become a nation of crazies?

How can the majority of Americans buy trickle down economics? Or sending our boys t fight a war we don't need to fight? How does anyone believe a politcian right now?

And how can the American people buy all this shit ?

Amazes me. Really does.

The Cynical America-Losing Heart

The cynical American drives over the speed limit and slows down when a cop is spotted.
The cynical American believes if the grocery store gives you more change -keep it-prices are expensive.
The cynical American uses credit cards, payday loans,and home equity as if it were cash. In fact, Cynical America has marketed borrowing money as a normal way of life.
Cynical Americans do not believe in public school education, welfare for the poorest, helping children of illegal immigrants or providing free medical care to our sickest elderly or our children.
Cynical Americans take sick days from work because they are "owed" and think nothing of pulling their children out of school for a two vacation.

Cynical American government wastes our time attacking one another instead of finding solutions.
-They sponsor people to run for office based on cynical loyalties and not qualifications.
-They blame one another while America's infrastructure falls apart, our economy fails, our jobs lost, our small businesses fail, and our homes are foreclosed.
-Cynical politicians get elected to enrich themselves through corporate and lobbying industries and forget it is us they are supposed to watching out for-and Cynical Americans assume cynical politicians will be greedy and dishonest.
-Cynical politicians who break the law are only remorseful at having gotten caught.
-Cynical politicians who break the law and are not called out on it are outraged when they are-because if they aren't in jail, no one has the right to accuse them of unethical behavior.

-Cynical Americans and Cynical Politicians believe fudging the truth, evading the real issue, keeping silent about important truths to protect an overall dishonest situation. not stepping up to call out any of these falls under the umbrella of "loyalty" and are ethical.

American children, who are not cynical, yet, are taught, in our public schools some of the most important lessons of life-values.

As a second grade teacher I teach my students how to get along even if they don't like each other. I tell them not everyone likes everyone but they do need to respect one another.

-I teach my students the difference between having pride in doing their very best work and owning a Wii.
-My students learn that working together can almost always result in a victory where everyone benefits. They have also learned, through their own trial and error, spending too much time arguing who will lead the group almost always results in getting nothing accomplished.

-My students discover that even at age seven, one caring act, such as helping another student understand a math problem, can create a change that is further reaching-because people rarely forget a kindness and that little extra boost brings along the classes overall learning. (And kid talk is so much more effective)

-My students know the difference between trying to "please the teacher" and "taking pride in what they can do them selves"

-_My students learn early on that kids don't have control over what they have, so those that come to school in ragged clothes or worn out shoes;this does not make them less of a person.

The great equalizer in our class is our earnestness, our honesty and our efforts.

You see, in Elementary school, in second grade, life is pretty transparent. It is also safe, predictable, caring and compassionate.

-With those values in place, kids feel free to learn, try and make good decisions, learn from failures and mistakes, and most importantly, continuously evaluate their own behaviors.

The Cynical America is out there waiting for them, they are exposed to it by parents, neighbors, health care providers, government systems.

Some lose their way.
Many don't. Somewhere in this world, my students continue to believe America does not have tobe cynical if we can be respectful of our differences, work together for the common good, and remember to help each out once in awhile.
